Simply Healthcare Plans, Inc. (Simply) is purchasing Miami Children’s Health Plan’s (MCHP) Florida Medicaid contract.
Miami Children’s Health Plan members will become Simply members starting May 1, 2021.

MCHP will keep providing your healthcare coverage until you become a Simply member.

What You Need to Know About COVID-19

What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that is caused by a new virus called a "coronavirus." It is also referred to as "novel coronavirus." It has become a national public health emergency and a global pandemic. The number of cases continues to increase in the United States and around the world. 

Symptoms of COVID-19

Common symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath. They may appear  2-14 days after exposure.

How to Protect Yourself and Your Community

We all play an important role in protecting our communities and families from COVID-19. Take these steps to help slow the spread of the virus:
  • Practice social distancing by keeping 6 feet between you and other people. Avoid hugs, handshakes and large groups.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly and often. Use soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze by coughing or sneezing into your elbow or a tissue.
  • Stay home when you are sick.

If You Think You Are Sick

Call your primary care doctor. If you have symptoms such as fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. Call your doctor if you have been exposed to COVID-19.  Please get pre-screened before seeking testing or treatment. When you call, you will be asked questions about your symptoms, travel history and exposure to COVID-19. This will help doctors decide if you should be tested for the virus.

The Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 Call Center is now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-866-779-6121. You may also email your questions to

Call 911 if you have a medical emergency. Tell the operator that you have or think you might have COVID-19. This will help the responders take additional steps to protect themselves and others. 


Did you know you can use Teladoc when you can’t see your regular doctor?

Teledoc logo
Teladoc can connect you to a doctor by phone or video 24/7. Teladoc is great for common colds and flu, rashes, and minor injuries. Teladoc doctors can also order medicine at your local drug store.

Pharmacy Update

During the COVID-19 period, members may:
  • get early refills of maintenance medications (excludes controlled substances).
  • Use mail order for maintenance medications without limits.
  • Request a 90-day supply of medications when the pharmacy has that amount.
  • Request a 90-day supply of medications by mail order.

Notice Of Medicaid Continuation

Florida wants to ensure that enrollees keep benefits during the COVID-19 state of emergency.
You may have received a letter saying your benefits are ending. Medicaid coverage will remain until the end of the state of emergency.  You will get a letter before your coverage will end.
You do not need to do anything to keep your Medicaid.  Your benefits will remain the same.

Medicaid Applications

The Agency is extending the deadline for Medicaid applications. You now have 120 days to complete your paperwork. This begins with applications received in February 2020. For more info, read the AHCA alert here.
